Since the reopening of the Seaford Train Station, the newsstand has not reopened. Please advise who owns the property and if it is for sale or rent? I am a Seaford resident. Thank you,

The best way to proceed would probably be to contact the Town of Hempstead - 489-5000. The surrounding parking lots are Town lots. If they do not handle the newsstand, then it would fall under the LIRR-MTA. We have no information on the name of the last proprietor.

Start by going to irs.gov. First thing you need is an EIN - Employer Identification #. Then you will need to register with New York State for sales tax.
You should consult with a CPA.
Good luck with your business venture and if you or your new business is in Seaford, please remember to join the Chamber of Commerce.

The area on Merrick Rd. in front of the Seaford Movie Theater is extremely messy and never seems to be kept up or cleaned can someone look into why such a profitable business can't afford to maintain there property.

This area and most of Merrick Rd. or any street face a constant trash problem caused in part by some businesses along the road that have open dumpsters and uncontrolled trash. We routinely contact Nassau County for extra street sweeping that must be done very early before cars are parked along the route. Blame also has to go to the many unconcerned citizens who seems to think our streets, curbs, lawns and parkways are just large trash cans.
The theatre and most other businesses in Seaford do their very best to maintain a clean, inviting atmosphere but a clean-up in the morning does not insure a clean area hours later. Wind redistributes trash at will, aided by inconsiderate individuals.
If you or anyone sees an area of concern or an area that may provide spreadable trash, please speak to the owner or manager.
Everyone needs to help - do not throw trash on the ground or out of your car; if you see someone doing it, bring it to their attention. And if everyone picks up a piece or two of trash they see blowing in the wind and disposes of it properly, all of Seaford will thank you.

After many years in Seaford, Bast Chevrolet closed its doors. We can only assume the economic situation with GM prompted the action.

The area of concern is actually Cedar Creek Park. The lead group for community involvement is the Wantagh - Seaford Homeowners Association. They have all of the current information on this and also host meetings on this topic.

To whom it may concern,
The tree in front of my house is disease. I would like to have it remove. Which department should I contact? Or can I just remove it privately?

The location of the tree will affect the answer to your question. It usually depends on whether the tree is in betweek the sidewalk and the curb or on your house side of the sidewalk. For exact information and a full answer to your question, contact the Town of Hempstead (516) 489-5000 and ask for the Highway Dept.

My friend lives in Seaford and is looking for bridge groups that are in the area. She does not have a computer and I offered to look into this for her. Surrounding areas that have bridge groups would be welcome, also. Thank you. Mary Ellen

To whom it may concern,
I recently moved into Seaford and I commute to Manhattan daily. I noticed that most of the available parking at the LIRR train station requires a permit. How and where do I go in order to obtain a valid parking permit for the LIRR train station?
Thank you in advance,
David Masem

The area we now call Seaford Harbor, south of Merrick Rd. and west of the expressway, was established in May 1924 by O.L. Schwencke Land & Investment Co.
Building started in what they designated as "Section 1" in 1928-1929.
Prior to that developement, Seaford Harbor was always the section East of now Riverside Ave. below Merrick Rd. There was a beach and a pavilion for a very active Seaford beach.
